On the fifth floor of an elegant building near Via Margutta, with a lift to the top, this 120m² apartment opens onto a large panoramic terrace looking across to the Pincio, the green hill above the Spanish Steps. Furnished with tables and sofas, it holds the sun from morning to evening; breakfast outside before the city wakes, and come back for an aperitivo when the light turns gold.

Michele, an artist and architect, designed and oversaw the renovation herself. She opened the walls into exposed-brick arches, so from the living room your eye travels through the dining area and out over the rooftops of Via Margutta. Vintage pieces, each sourced and restored with care, sit against white plaster. It reads as someone’s home, because it is one.

Three bedrooms and two full bathrooms sleep up to five guests. The kitchen, with marble counters and a panel of hand-painted majolica behind the range, is made for cooking rather than for show. A Peloton bike is also available on request; let us know before you arrive and it will be ready for you.

As in every TreasureRome home, you’ll find air conditioning, fast Wi-Fi, a washer-dryer, a dishwasher and a television with Netflix.

The Spanish Steps and the gardens of Villa Borghese are each about seven minutes on foot, with Piazza del Popolo and Piazzale Flaminio just to the north.
